Seven Truths About God’s Will:

1. God's will NEVER CONTRADICTS God's word.

2. God expects me to obey His word BEFORE He shows me His specific will.

3. It's God's will that I live a PURE, disciplined life-style.

4. It's God's will that I maintain an ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE.

5. It is God's will that I be a LAW ABIDING CITIZEN

6. It is God's will that I BRING OTHERS to Jesus Christ.

7. It is God's will that I COMMIT MYSELF to God and other believers.

The EIGHTH Truth About God’s Will:

God Allows U TURNS

Definition of God’s Will:

God’s will is the direction I would choose if I could see things from God’s perspective.

HOW TO GET BACK IN GOD’S WILL:

-ADMIT THAT I AM OUT OF GOD’S WILL

Psalm 139:23“Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I'm about.”

Symptoms that “may” show that I’m out of God’s Will:

Frustration 
Fatigue
Feelings of emptiness 
Failure
Feeling distant from God 
Lack of Fulfillment
Anxiety 
Not enough time for God
Quick-tempered 
Avoidance of spiritual habits

-ACCEPT GOD’S FORGIVENESS

1 John 1:9“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.”

-ASK GOD FOR REVISED DIRECTIONS

THE DANGERS OF GETTING OFF COURSE

• I will miss Relationships God has for me.
• I will miss Opportunities that God has for me.
• I will miss the Spiritual Growth that God has for me.

Ephesians 4:14-15“We are not meant to remain as children ... but to grow up in every way into Christ...”

Memory Verse: Proverbs 14:14“There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.”

THREE REGULAR HABITS THAT KEEP ME ON COURSE

1. I Apply WHAT I READ FROM THE BIBLE.

2 Timothy 3:16-17“The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. It is God's way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone.”

James 1:22“Do not fool yourselves by just listening to the Word. Instead, put it into practice.”

2. I Talk to God WITH PERSONAL PRAYERS.
 
Philippians 4:6“Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

3. I Invite My Friends TO A SUNDAY SERVICE.

Matthew 20: 19-20“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

LEARNING TO TRUST

HOW TO TRUST GOD WHEN HE SPEAKS:

1. Confirm the it truly is God's voice

Proverbs 14:12“There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.”

Proverbs 12:28“The way of the godly leads to life; that path does not lead to death.” 

How God Speaks:

• Through the Bible (primary)
• Through His Holy Spirit
• Through Prayer
• Through Other Christians
• Through Circumstances

John 10:27(Jesus) “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

2. Remember God's faithfulness in my past

Deuteronomy 7:18“But don't be afraid of them! Just remember what the LORD your God did . . .”

Psalms 143:5“I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works. I think about what you have done.”

3. Take a step forward in faith

Hebrews 11:6“So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

Hebrews13:20-21“Now may the God of peace—equip you with all you need for doing his will.”

Take a Step . . .Evaluate . . . Retreat or Repeat

4. Stay focused on your relationship with God...not the end result

James 4:8“Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.”

Isaiah 26:3-4“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.”
