LEANING ON THE LOVE OF CHRIST

John 12:13- They took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting Hosanna, blessed is the King of Israel.

WHAT KIND OF FATHER IS GOD?


1.  Jesus is a caring God.

Psalm 104:13 - As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who honor Him.

1 Peter 5:7 - Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you!

Psalm 35:37 - The Lord delights in the well being of His servants.

2.  Jesus is a consistent God.

James 1:17 - Every good and perfect gift is from the Father who does not change like shifting shadows.

Psalm 18:20 - What a God He is!  All his promises prove true!

3.  Christ is a close God.

Acts 17:27 - God did this so people would reach out for Him and find Him, since He is not far from each of us.

Three things to remember about Christ:

* Christ is never too busy for you.

Psalm 145:18 - The Lord is near to all who call on Him.

* Christ loves to meet your need.

Matthew 7:11 - If you know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!

* Christ is sympathetic to your hurts.

Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

4.  Christ is a capable God.

Luke 1:37 - For nothing is impossible with God.

Ephesians 3:20 - (God) is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desire, thoughts, or hopes!

Galatians 3:26 - We are children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:19 - My God shall supply all your needs.

A Gift For The Life Without Limits

1. The gift speaks of a penalty paid.
Mark 15:31 - He saved others, they said, but He can’t save Himself.

2 Corinthians 5:15 - He died for all.

2. The gift speaks of a way to God.
Mark 15:38 - The curtain in the Temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

3. The gift speaks of a life of new motivation
Mark 15:39 - And when the Centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus hear His cry and saw how He died, He said, “surely this Man was the Son of God.”

Mark 15:43 -Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the Kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.

Mark 15:40 - Some women were watching from a distance. Among them was Mary Magdalene, Mary the Mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.

4. The gift speaks of our need to make clear our intention.
Mark 9:35 - Be the servant of all.
