THE KIND OF WORK GOD BLESSES

Proverbs 27:29 – When you see people skilled in their work, you know that they will end up standing before Kings, not working for ordinary people.

Proverbs 16:3 – Commit your work to the Lord, and it will succeed.

FIVE WAYS GOD BLESSES OUR WORK

1. Seek God’s direction.

Proverbs 15:8 – The Lord is pleased when good men pray.

Proverbs 16:20 – He who plans a thing will be successful.

Proverbs 13:16 – A wise man thinks ahead, a fool doesn’t and even brags about it.

2. Sharpen our skills.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 – If your axe is dull, and it’s edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but still will bring success.

Proverbs 15:22 – Get all the advice you can, and you will succeed, without it you will fail.

3. Share the profit.

Proverbs 3:9-10 – Honor the Lord by giving Him the first part of all your income, and He will fill your barns to overflow.

4. Stay with it.

Proverbs 12:24 – Diligence brings a man to power.

Proverbs 21:5 – Steady plodding brings prosperity.

Colossians 3:24 – Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.  Remember that the Lord will reward you.  For Christ is the real master you serve.

Isaiah 40:31 – Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

5. Always be thankful.

Ephesians 5:20 – Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Understanding My World

Where Have All the Values Gone?

  • Politics
  • Business
  • Entertainment
  • Education
  • Religion

I.  THE REASON:

THREE DESTRUCTIVE PHILOSOPHIES:

1. Individualism.

Judges 21:25 - “In those days Israel had no (authority) so the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.”

2. Secularism.

Romans 1:25 - “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped created things rather than the Creator.”

3. Relativism.

“It doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you’re sincere.”

“There are no absolute truths.”

Ephesians 4:17-19 - “They are hopelessly confused.  Their closed minds are full of darkness; they are far away from the life of God.  They don’t care anymore about     right and wrong.”

II. THE RESULT: Our culture is collapsing.

Proverbs 29:18 - “Where there is ignorance of God, crime runs wild.”

Isaiah 5:20 - Destruction is certain for those who say that evil is good and good is evil; that dark is light and light is dark.”

Proverbs 29:18 - “A nation without God’s guidance is a nation without order.”

Psalm 11:3 - “When the foundations of life are     undermined, what can good people do?”

III. THE REMEDY: We must start with God.

Proverbs 2:9 - God shows how to distinguish right from wrong, how to find the right decision every time.”

2 Timothy 3:16 - “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.  It straightens us out and     teaches us to do what is right.”

Psalm 119:105 - “God’s Word is a flashlight to light the path ahead of me and keep me from stumbling.”

Proverbs 16:20 - “Those who listen to God’s instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be happy.”
