July 19 2015 The Person God Uses

The Person God Uses

2 Chronicles 7:14

THE PROCESS OF RENEWAL

Christians pray, God cares
Christians repent, God shows us ourselves
Christians minister, God empowers and equips

THE PERSON GOD USES

1. That person has one great purpose.

Philippians 3:7-14

To “know God” there must be:

Evaluation How well do I know God?

Exchange What must I do to know Him better?

Trade off What price will I pay to know Him better?

2. That person has, by God’s grace, removed every known hindrance.  Hebrews 12:1-2

Observations:

1. We can have victory over all sin.

2. If God’s Word says lay it aside, it can be done.

God didn’t say these things to frustrate us, but help us by God’s Grace.

“Whatever weakens your reason, impairs the tenderness of your conscience, obscures your sense of God, or takes off the relish of spiritual things, whatever increases the authority of your body over your mind, that thing for us is sin.” (Susanna Wesley)

3. That person has placed themselves at God’s disposal.

Romans 12:1-2

Observations:

1. For those who have been saved.

2. Sign my name to a blank sheet of paper.

3. Give Him control of your life.

4. That person who has learned to prevail in prayer.

James 5:13-18

Observations:
1. Things beyond my control.

2. Things that are bigger than myself.

3. Things that seem impossible.

5. That person is a student of the Word.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

6. That person has a giving Spirit.

John 3:16

7. That person expects results.

Romans 4:16-21

8. That person lives under the anointing of God the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18-20

“The renewal we need is simply a return to normal New Testament Christianity, where the Churches are full of prayer, full of power, full of people, full of praise full of divine happenings all the time.  We want something normal, not just ‘special.’  God’s normal, that is.  God’s normal is greater than most of our specials put together. (Dr. Armin Desswein)

April 5 2015 The Dynamics Of Easter

THE DYNAMICS OF EASTER

Philippians 3:10 and Ephesians 1:19-20

Philippians 3:10 – I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection.

Ephesians 1:19-20 – I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great His power is to help those who believe in Him.  It is the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in a place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven.

THREE DYNAMICS TO EXPERIENCE

1. Dynamic one:  Power for real life.

John 10:10 – I came that you might have life and have it to the fullest.

John 3:17 – For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

2. Dynamic two:  Power to help you.

Ephesians 1:20 – I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great His power is to help those who believe in Him, the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead.

Philippians 4:13 – I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.

3. Dynamic three:  Power to trust His promises.

2 Corinthians 1:20 – He carries out and fulfills all of God’s promises, no matter how many of them there are.

1 Peter 1:3 – We have been born again into a life full of hope through Christ rising again from the dead.

Philippians 4:19 – And my God will meet all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.

John 5:24 – I tell you the truth, whoever hears my words and believes in Him who sent me has eternal life.  He will not be judged, but has already passed from death to life.

Romans 10:9 – If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Revelation 3:20 – If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him.

March 31 2013 Power To Enjoy Life

POWER TO ENJOY LIFE
Philippians 3:10 - I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection.

What Can Christ Set Me Free From?

1. Guilt over my past.

Ephesians 1:7 - By the death of Christ we are set free, that is our sins are forgiven.

Colossians 2:14 - He has cancelled every record of the debt we owed. Christ has done away with it by nailing it to the cross.

Romans 8:1 - There is no condemnation awaiting those who belong to Christ.

2. Worry about your future.

1 Peter 1:2 - God’s Spirit has been at work in your heart through Jesus Christ. May God grant you increasing freedom from all anxiety and fear.

Philippians 4:13 - I am ready for anything through the strength of Christ who lives in me.

3. Living without a purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 - We are God’s work of art, created in Christ Jesus to live the good life as He meant for us to live it.

Acts 20:24 - Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus.

4. Earning your way to heaven.

Colossians 2:20 - Christ has set you free from following the world’s ideas of how to be saved by doing good and obeying various rules.

Romans 4:4 - You don’t earn the right to heaven, No, for being saved is a free gift. If a person could earn it by being good, then it wouldn’t be free, but it is.

Romans 6:23 - The free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.

A Prayer That Leads To Freedom:

Dear God, I believe Jesus Christ was who He claimed to be, Your Son, and that He proved it by rising from death. Jesus Christ, thank You for dying for me on the cross. I want You to forgive my sins and I want to know you personally and experience the freedom You offer. As much as I know how, I ask You to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Amen
